Vadim Lafontaine aka Vad was born on July 25, 1984. Born in Brussels, this little guy started his life with a great hearing failure which was not easy to fight against the obstacles of life. As a child, Vadim refused any hearing technology for fear of being treated differently in the eyes of others. Until the day of his story and when he met a classmate (thanks to you, Axel Bendiba) who went through the most impactful words. Since that day, life has opened in Vadim’s ears. Having difficulty reaching a high level, a loss of confidence, he perfected his other senses. Since the age of 8, the pencil was one of his favorites. Reproducing scenes of video games, cartoons or even badly shaped caricatures, he takes a liking to art. Seeking all the secondary arts plastics is a objecting after got his C.E.S.S. at the Institut Sainte Marie in Advertising, he followed the advice of his father. It’s after school, graduate schools in graphic design, the high school diploma, the visionary and the space of the Higher School of the picture arts « The 75 ». Since then, he has gone from one contract to another.

Vadim Lafontaine alias Vad vient au monde le 25 juillet 1984. Né à Bruxelles, ce petit bonhomme démarra sa vie avec une grande défaillance auditive ce qui n’a pas facilité sa lutte contre les obstacles de la vie. Étant enfant, Vadim refusa toute technologie auditive de peur d’être traité différemment aux yeux des autres. Jusqu’au jour de ses seize ans où il rencontra un camarade de classe ( merci à toi, Axel Bendiba ) qui à travers des mots convaincants arriva à le faire changer d’avis. Depuis ce jour, la vie s’ouvra aux oreilles de Vadim. Ayant des difficultés à atteindre un bon niveau scolaire dû à une perte de confiance, il perfectionna ses autres sens. Depuis l’âge de 8 ans, le crayon fût l’un de ses passe-temps favoris. Á reproduire des scènes de jeux vidéos, de dessins animés ou encore de caricatures mal formées, il prit goût à l’art. Parcourant toutes les secondaires en arts plastiques mais n’ayant pas d’objectif concret après avoir obtenu son C.E.S.S. à l’institut St Marie en Publicité, il suivit les conseils de son père. C’est après acharnement, d’écoles supérieures en écoles supérieures en Graphisme, que Vadim finit par obtenir son Baccalauréat en arts plastiques, visuels et de l’espace à l’École supérieure des arts de l’image « Le 75 ». Depuis lors, il se débat à travers un travail alimentaire ainsi que plusieurs contrats en free lance dans l’espoir d’un jour trouver sa voie…

Vadim Lafontaine, aka Vad, ziet het levenslicht te Brussel op 25 juli 1984. Het kereltje wandelt het leven binnen met een ernstige gehoorbeschadiging, een handicap die hem parten zal blijven spelen. Als kind weigert hij koppig om een gehoorapparaat te dragen uit vrees dat zijn omgeving hem als « anders » zou behandelen. Pas wanneer hij zestien jaar is, laat hij zich door een klasgenoot ompraten om dat toch te doen nogmaals dank daarvoor Axel Bendiba. Vanaf dan hoort ook Vadim wat er in de wereld gebeurt. Desondanks kampt Vadim met een gebrek aan zelfvertrouwen waardoor zijn schoolresultaten ondermaats blijven. Hij slaagt er evenwel in om andere talenten te ontwikkelen. Vanaf zijn acht jaar is Vadim een verwoed tekenaar. Hij tekent scènes na uit videospellen en tekenfilms en verzint bizarre karikaturen. Door zijn potlood krijgt hij de zin voor kunst te pakken. Op school geeft Vadim niet op en hij behaalt een diploma secondair onderwijs in publiciteit aan het Institut Sainte Marie te St.Gillis. Op aanraden van zijn vader studeert hij voort aan de hogeschool Ecole des Arts de !’Image — »le 75″ – te St-Lambrechts-Wolue. Met veel doorzettingsvermogen behaalt hij het einddiploma in de plastische, visuele en ruimtelijke kunsten.Vandaag combineert Vadim een loopbaan in de voedingssector met grafische opdrachten als freelancer, in de hoop dat hij op een dag de juiste weg vindt waarnaar zijn passie hem leidt.
